Grammar check

 

this is a bag of cracked wheat.  they need some grammar checking.  People in all this part of the world have no idea what a trash can is.  They pay slave labor wages to foreigners to pick up all thier trash off the streets.

Nice area

 

We went on a picnic with our neighbors.  it was a very nice area.  Trees do not seem to get to tall here.  Susan took this b/c the guys are posing in the flowers taking pictures.  They take really cheezy pics.  The other day we were driving down the highway and I almost wrecked from laughing so hard.  This dude had his suit jacket slung over his shoulder with a cigarette in his mouth posing for a cool pic.

We were way out of town on this picnic.  There was only this lonely shepherd and his sheep and dog.

We went on a family picnic just to get away for a while from everything.  We went way back in behind the lake.

The guy to my right with the red and white towel wrapped up on his head is our land lord.  Great guy.  This is their tribes area, part of it.

Brianna is like Elley May Clamped from the Beverly Hillbillies.  She had so much fun petting the calve.  It is a beautiful one.

This is the view from our land lord's house.  He invited us to his house to stay a couple of days.  It was about 2 1/2 hours there, but the time and the view was worth it.

this was the city at night with all the fires going.  Lots of smoke in the atmosphere.  The camera's night setting is awesome.  This pic was taken right before we left, after the others.  Awesome camera, thanks Sis.

The told us that during the time they were under Arab control, the Arabs used to shoot at them when they were up on the mountain.  this part of the world is so peaceful and loving.  Must come from their religion.

K new year night

 

here in this part of the world, new year is celebrated twice.  Once with the western calendar, and one with the clutural calendar March 21st.  You can read about this in Esther, this is the same time that the king clelbrated the new year in chapter one.  They go up on the mountain or on their house tops and light fires.  We went with a family to the top of the mountain.  It was dark and cold.

It has been a long time since I updated the blog.  someone aseked about it, and now that we have internet, maybe I will remember a little better.

I was missing home a little so I fired up the grill.  the steak is a little more than a pound.  Of course I ate it all.

after the dust settled

 

This is what our truck looked like the next morning after a dust storm.  This is about 10 in the morning, and the sky is still dusty, so it looks like early morning or late afternoon.  I brushed off the windshield, so I could see to drive.  dont use water b/c it will al turn to mud.  Dust storms will get worse this year b/c of the lack of rain.  Kurds blame it all on the Arabs.  LOL
